Adria Airways chooses IT from Lufthansa Systems

The Slovenian national carrier Adria Airways will optimize its planning and operations processes with state-of-the-art IT solutions from Lufthansa Systems. The airline has selected a wide range of products covering flight scheduling, slot management, crew planning and operations control. The carrier will use Lufthansa Systems’ NetLine solutions for more exact planning and faster reaction to irregularities. This will result in a new level of stability in operations as well as in reduced costs.

“NetLine/Sched, NetLine/Crew and NetLine/Ops will make our flight operations and crew planning considerably more efficient. This IT package is a milestone for all of us at Adria Airways, and our passengers will definitely benefit from this investment”, says Capt. Igor Korenjak, Director Flight Operations at Adria Airways.

The chosen solutions draw on Lufthansa Systems’ proven expertise in the airline industry. NetLine/Sched covers all processes for medium- to short-term flight scheduling. Its additional modules, NetLine/Sched Slot Manager and Slot Monitor, facilitate the entire slot coordination. Slot Manager communicates schedules to the airport co-ordinator, while Slot Monitor provides control of slot utilization and ensures that no slots are lost. Monitoring current operations and responding faster to irregularities, NetLine/Ops enables the airline to enhance its operations control processes. On the crew planning side, NetLine/Crew generates cost-efficient and employee-friendly duty rosters.

Marco Cesa, Senior Vice President Sales EMEA at Lufthansa Systems, explains: “Planning, scheduling and operations control are core processes for an airline, but they are also complex and cost-intensive even for a medium-size carrier. By choosing our solutions, Adria Airways will benefit both from our know-how and from its existing relationship with Lufthansa Systems. As a result, the airline now has a basis for further sustainable growth.”

Adria Airways is the national carrier of Slovenia. With a fleet of 14 aircraft, the airline offers passenger flights as well as cargo capacity to more than 20 destinations in Europe. In 2010, Adria Airways transported approximately 1.1 million passengers. The airline already uses the navigation data from Lido/FMS, the navigation charts from Lido/RouteManual as well as the ProfitLine/Yield Rembrandt revenue management solution from Lufthansa Systems.
