Accor unveils ibis Cambridge to guests

AccorHotels has officially opened its new ibis Cambridge hotel.

Situated in the prime location of Station Square directly opposite the train station, it is the first AccorHotels property in Cambridge and the largest hotel in the city and its surrounding areas.

The hotel comprises 231 Sweet Room by ibis, the brand’s new room concept which is one of the most contemporary and comfortable in the economy segment, created specifically for the wellbeing of guests.

ibis Cambridge also holds a new _SPACE by ibis meeting rooms, a unique meeting room concept that addresses the growing requirement for flexible working spaces, and the new “Chill #2” coffee shop.

The café-bar sources local produce, which will be prepared fresh onsite, and stock artisan coffee.

ibis Cambridge is located in Station Square, next to the train station with fast trains to and from London as well as easy access to Birmingham and Scotland.

Karelle Lamouche, senior vice president for economy and budget hotels at AccorHotels UK & Ireland commented: “The hotel marks a new benchmark in the economy hotel segment and offers greater comfort, well-being and modernity to guests.

“Over the past few years the ibis family has disrupted the classic codes of the economy segment and ibis Cambridge will offer a new standard in comfort, without the increased price tag.

“Its prime location and the new _SPACE by ibis meeting rooms mean ibis Cambridge is perfectly suited to business travellers.”

Cambridge welcomed 430,000 visitors from overseas alone last year, collectively staying over 3.5 million nights and spending £350 million.

This made it the tenth most visited UK town by overseas visitors.
