Branson launches Virgin Atlantic domestic services in Scotland
Sir Richard Branson has landed in Edinburgh to celebrate the launch of Virgin Atlantic’s first ever domestic service, Little Red. The new airline will carry up to a million passengers a year, create 375 jobs in the UK and generate £75 million in visitor spend for the Scottish economy.
Virgin Atlantic increases its hand baggage allowance
From 31st March 2013, Virgin Atlantic is increasing its hand baggage allowance in Economy, Premium Economy and Little Red flights from 6kg to 10kg, when flying to any Virgin Atlantic destination. Upper Class hand baggage allowance remains the same.

Tyrrells partners with Virgin’s ‘Little Red’ to launch plane crisps
Tyrrells, the premium English crisp brand, is taking to the skies with the arrival of its new ‘Plane Crisps’. Tyrrells have teamed up with Virgin Atlantic to create a bespoke ‘Little Red’ pack to enjoy on-board Virgin’s new Little Red domestic routes. Unique to Virgin, the specially created miniature packs will be handed out to all passengers on the new domestic flight routes, set for lift-off from 31st March.
Virgin set to launch Little Red in UK
Virgin has confirmed that its new domestic airline, set to launch at the end of the month, will be called Little Red. The carrier will launch on March 31st in Manchester, on April 5th in Edinburgh and April 9th in Aberdeen.
Davies to head Virgin Atlantic UK sales
Virgin Atlantic is pleased to announce that Scott Davies will be joining the airline as general manager UK Sales from March 04th 2013. In his new role at Virgin Atlantic, Scott will report in to Maria Sebastian, director of worldwide sales, and will be responsible for the airline’s UK sales and revenue performance.
Virgin Atlantic appoints Kreeger as chief executive
Virgin Atlantic has appointed Craig Kreeger as its new chief executive. He will assume the role on February 1st 2013. He joins from rival American Airlines, where he has had a 27-year career spanning commercial, financial and strategic roles in the US and around the globe.
Virgin rolls out new campaign
Virgin is launching its latest multi million pound TV ad campaign which aims to bring the glamour and fun back to long-haul travel. The new brand proposition kicks off with a global TV advertising campaign and a faux movie trailer to pay tribute to the airline’s staff in a superhero style.

International Airlines Group boss Willie Walsh has offered Sir Richard Branson a “knee in the groin” according to reports. The outspoken chief executive was responding to the offer of a £1 million bet from Branson that his Virgin Atlantic airline would still be around in five years.
Delta confirms Virgin Atlantic stake
Singapore Airlines has agreed to sell its 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic to Delta Air Lines. Under the agreement, Delta will pay US$360 million in cash for Singapore Airlines’ entire shareholding in the UK-based airline group.

Delta Air Lines is close to taking a stake in Virgin Atlantic Airways in a deal believed to be worth between $300 million to $500 million. According to widespread reports, the deal is close to completion.

Sir Richard Branson’s airline has confirmed that it will challenge British Airways head on by operating 24 domestic flights a day - six daily return flights to Edinburgh, three to Aberdeen and a further three to Manchester - starting from March 31st 2013.
