Vietjet has reported positive growth in 2016, with revenue of US$1.21 and profit of US$105 million. The airline achieved a load factor of 88.9 per cent, transporting more than 14 million passengers.

Vietjet has signed a memorandum of understanding with Air India for cooperation on the supply of aviation services connecting Vietnam and India. The deal was signed in New Delhi by vice president of Vietjet Air, Dinh Viet Phuong, and director of commercial for Air India, Pankaj Srivastava.

The inaugural flight was welcomed by government officials from both Vietnam and Tainan, as well as senior leaders from Vietjet Air. Vietjet and Boeing have finalised an order for 100 737 MAX 200 aircraft, the largest ever commercial aircraft purchase in Vietnam’s aviation history. Tran Dai Quang, president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and US president Barack Obama witnessed the historic agreement, which has been valued at approximately US$11.3 billion.
Vietjet has signed an agreement with Pratt & Whitney to provide PurePower Geared Turbofan engines for the airlines order of 63 Airbus A320neo and A321 aircraft. “We are very pleased to choose the PurePower Geared Turbofan engine for our Airbus A320neo and A321neo fleet,” said Madam Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, president, Vietjet.
