Geneva Tourism has unveiled its new identity, GENEVALIVE, a dynamic destination brand geared towards digital devices. Norman Foster to oversee Kulm Hotel Pavillon redevelopment
The legendary Kulm Hotel St. Moritz has announced that British architect Lord Norman Foster is to oversee a £5.4 million refurbishment and extension of the Ice Pavillon in the Kulm Park. The Pavillon stands between the main hotel building and Chesa al Parc (one of the Kulm’s restaurants and the clubhouse for Kulm Golf St. Moritz); in front of it is the hotel’s outdoor ice rink (in winter) and tennis courts (in summer).

Geneva voted Europe’s Leading City Break Destination at World Travel Awards
For the second year in succession, Geneva has been named Europe’s Leading City Break Destination at the World Travel Awards. The honour came during a Gala Ceremony at Forte Village in Sardinia. In the face of stiff competition from cities such as Paris, London, Rome, Istanbul, Madrid, Lisbon, Venice and Dublin, as well as new nominees Porto and Lodz, Geneva becomes part of the new trend of “city break” trips, i.e. short weekend breaks.
SkyWork Airlines launches new Swiss flights from London City
SkyWork Airlines has launched flights from London City Airport to the Swiss cities Basel and Bern. Flights are operated by a twin-engine turboprop Saab 2000 aircraft, departing at 07:20 between Monday and Friday with a Sunday service departing at 17:20. A weekday evening route departing at 18:10 will also come into service from Tuesday September 1st.

Switzerland was the first country to join Expo Milano 2015, presenting a pavilion which reflects on the scarcity of food resources in specific areas around the world. The pavilion is made up of four towers, full of local food products which the visitor can take away. But there is a limit to the resources available; to exceed that limit is to deprive other visitors of the same opportunities. Emirates launches second daily A380 service to Zurich
Emirates is launching a second daily A380 service to Zurich, adding 945 seats a week on the route, with 280 in First Class and Business Class. Commencing October 1st 2015, Emirates flights EK85/86, currently operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, will be upgraded to an A380. The first A380 was introduced on the route in January 2014; since then, more than 345,000 passengers have chosen to fly Emirates’ flagship aircraft to and from Zurich.
Zurich Tourism to install tablets in hotels city wide
