Qatar Airways Launches World’s First Starlink-Equipped Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 Starlink Rollout
Qatar Airways, the operator of the world’s first and largest Starlink-equipped widebody fleet, has become the first carrier globally to enable Boeing 787-8 with Starlink. The airline has also equipped its entire Airbus A350 fleet within record-breaking eight months in December 2025. To date, Qatar Airways is operating three Dreamliners with the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, bringing the total of its Starlink-connected widebody aircraft to nearly 120.
Starwood expands presence in Australia
Starwood is planning to open the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Central Park. Located in the AU$2 billion Central Park urban village, the 297-room new build hotel is scheduled to open in 2018 as part of a mixed-use development.
Four Points by Sheraton opens in Taiwan
Starwood Hotels & Resorts have opened Four Points by Sheraton Penghu, marking the first internationally branded hotel in Magong City, Penghu Island, and the second Four Points hotel in Taiwan, joining Four Points by Sheraton Taipei, Zhonghe. Starwood to open four new Dubai hotels
Starwood is planning to open four new hotels in Dubai under Starwood’s Aloft and Element brand flags. Scheduled to open in 2018, the four new Aloft hotels and Element hotel will introduce 816 rooms in Dubai.
Starwood to expand Westin brand in Spain
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal to open The Westin La Quinta Golf & Spa Resort, a hotel conversion in March 2016. The agreeement marks the return of The Westin flag to the spectacular Andalusian resort in Benahavis, underscoring strong demand for the brand.
Starwood expands in the Philippines
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed Sheraton Mactan Resort, a new build property comprised of hotel and branded residences on the coral island of Mactan in the Philippines. The new property will open in 2019, followed by the opening of the residences in 2020.
