Princess Cruises, the world’s most iconic cruise line, has added a second Total Solar Eclipse cruise option, this one aboard its newest and most stunning ship – Sun Princess, when the next spectacle takes place in August 2026.

Holland America Line is announcing a new slate of cruises that will take guests to prime locations throughout Europe to witness extraordinary celestial events. Those seeking to cross off bucket-list items like viewing the Northern Lights, a total solar eclipse or a summer solstice above the Arctic Circle will be able to book one of these special Celestial Cruises beginning July 31.

A front-row seat to the eclipse path of totality wasn’t the only once-in-a-lifetime experience that happened on Delta flights 1218 and 1010. There were gatehouse celebrations. Bonds forged between astrological and aviation enthusiasts. A unique, bragging rights-level marriage proposal.  And, oh yeah, an astronaut.

On April 8 this year a total solar eclipse 115 miles across will pass over Mexico, the United States and Canada, and the sky will temporarily darken as if it were night-time.  Given there’s no further total eclipses in the US until 2033, this is a rare and spectacular event likely to create an influx of travel to the region in the days beforehand.
