Denmark among latest countries removed from quarantine safe list
People arriving in England from Denmark, Iceland, Curaçao and Slovakia will be expected to quarantine from Saturday after the quarter became the latest countries to removed from the quarantine safelist.
Ryanair opens new base in Slovakia
Low-cost carrier Ryanair is planning to open its first Slovakian base at Bratislava in March 2015 with two based aircraft and 16 routes including one new route to Madrid. The airline claims the new base will deliver almost one million customers per year and support 1,000 jobs, as Ryanair invests over $200 million at Bratislava.
Eurail Group confirms Slovakia expansion
Eurail Group has announced Slovakia will join the Eurail Global Pass on the 1st January, 2012. The national railway of Slovakia will be included in the classic Eurail Global Pass offer, which permits unlimited rail travel throughout a range of validity periods for either continuous travel periods or flexible travel days in 23 countries.
Slovakia seeks to part-privatise rail network by 2012
Officials in Slovakia have confirmed an ambitious plan to redevelop the state railway will be put into action following government approval. Developments will be part financed by the sale of railway infrastructure, with the government seeking to cut subsidies granted to the sector moving forward.
