Skyteam expands footprint in China
Global airline alliance SkyTeam has welcomed China’s Xiamen Airlines as its 19th member. Xiamen Airlines is also the fourth member from Greater China. The airline strengthens SkyTeam’s footprint in China by adding three new hubs - Xiamen, Fuzhou and Hangzhou – combined with a comprehensive domestic and growing international network.
Middle East Airlines joins SkyTeam
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, today welcomed Middle East Airlines – Air Liban (MEA) as its 17th member. The flag carrier of Lebanon, MEA becomes SkyTeam’s second Middle Eastern member, offering customers from the region access to an extensive global network.
SkyTeam launches Go Africa Pass
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has launched its new Go Africa Pass providing cost savings and flexibility on flights operated by Kenya Airways within Africa. The pass is available to business and leisure travelers flying with any of SkyTeam’s 15 member airlines on an intercontinental round-trip to Africa or a Go Round the World ticket.

Air Liban, the flag carrier of Lebanon, has signed an agreement to join SkyTeam. MEA will be the alliance’s second member from the Middle East, a strategic growth market for SkyTeam.
Aerolineas Argentinas joins SkyTeam
Aerolíneas Argentinas, the flag carrier of Argentina, signed an agreement to join SkyTeam in 2012. Aerolíneas will be SkyTeam’s first South American member, adding 38 new destinations to the SkyTeam network.
Shanghai Airlines to become part of SkyTeam
Shanghai Airlines today announced it will become part of SkyTeam under the wings of parent company China Eastern, which is already in the process of joining the alliance in 2011.
SkyTeam to welcome Aerolíneas Argentinas as future member
Aerolíneas Argentinas, the flag carrier of Argentina, will sign an agreement by the end of October to officially start the process of joining SkyTeam as the first South American member of the airline alliance. Customers will benefit from increased access to and from Latin America.
SkyTeam expands into South America
Aerolineas Argentinas has begun proceedings to join the SkyTeam aviation alliance, with the airline set to become its first South American member. Following re-nationalisation in 2008 the airline is seeking to rebuild its international credibility under the guidance of the national government.
China Airlines joins SkyTeam
China Airlines has confirmed its intention to join the SkyTeam network in mid-2011. The airline – the flag carrier of Taiwan – will follow in the footsteps of China Eastern which signed an agreement to join SkyTeam earlier this year.
