Singapore joins move to Terminal 2 at London Heathrow
Singapore Airlines has this morning become one of the latest airlines to launch its operations from the new Terminal 2 at London Heathrow Airport. In celebration of the move, special guest Sir Stamford Raffles, the British statesman best known as the father of modern Singapore, was brought to the terminal by the world famous Madame Tussauds.
Singapore Airlines overcomes Air New Zealand partnership hurdle
Singapore Airlines has welcomed the New Zealand minister of transport’s approval of its proposed alliance with Air New Zealand. The clearance represents the New Zealand regulatory approval needed for Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand to proceed with the alliance, which was announced on January 16th.

SIA suspends flights to Riyadh and Cairo
Singapore Airlines will be suspending services to Cairo in Egypt and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. The last flight to Riyadh will be operated on September 28th 2014 and the last flight to Cairo will be operated on September 30th 2014.

The Hertz Corporation, is celebrating 15 years of partnership with KrisFlyer, the frequent flyer program of Singapore Airlines, the world’s most awarded airline. In honor of this occasion, KrisFlyer members from around the world will be entitled to a 15 per cent discount and 1,500 KrisFlyer miles when renting a car with Hertz.
Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines sign codeshare deal
Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines have agreed a major expansion of codeshare ties, covering destinations beyond both Istanbul and Singapore. The Star Alliance partners have been codesharing on each other’s flights on the route from Istanbul to Singapore and vice versa since February 2009.

SIA to operate seasonal services to Athens
Singapore Airlines is adding a temporary new service to the Greek capital Athens between June and October 2014 as demand continues to rise. Flights will be operated twice per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, between 9 June 2014 and 9 October 2014. Boeing 777-200ERs will be used for the flights.
Singapore Airlines gets connected with AeroMobile
Singapore Airlines’ first aircraft offering AeroMobile’s inflight mobile connectivity service took its inaugural flight from Singapore to London on Friday 27 September 2013. Through AeroMobile’s inflight roaming service, SIA customers will be able to use their own mobile phones to text and browse the internet at 30,000 feet.
