Air Canada Announces New Edinburgh to Montréal Route
Air Canada, Canada’s largest airline and flag carrier, is continuing its transatlantic expansion for 2025, having unveiled its newest route between Edinburgh and Montréal. Set to take to the skies on 27 June 2025, the new direct service marks the only connection between Scotland and Canada’s second-largest city, heralding a new era for transatlantic travel from the Scottish capital. With over 4.3 million Canadians hailing Scottish heritage, and over 1,380 Canadian students studying at Scottish universities, the new connection aims to strengthen trade, business and cultural links between the countries.

Emirates returns to Edinburgh with a daily A350 service
Emirates has announced it will resume flight operations to Edinburgh starting from 4 November 2024. The highly anticipated return to the Scottish capital will complement the airline’s current A380 daily flight to Glasgow and offer customers 14 weekly flights to/from the country. The Dubai to Edinburgh route will be served utilising the Emirates A350-900 aircraft in a three-class configuration, with 32 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Economy and 259 seats in Economy Class.

Scottish Government Explores Social and Economic Impact of Tourism Through Geotourist Data
In January 2023, Geotourist and Dr Keith Dinnie, from the University of Dundee, launched a shared project to identify and assess Geotourist’s economic and social benefits to Scottish tourism.
