Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost carrier (ULCC), today celebrated the launch of its first Greek domestic flights between Chania and Thessaloniki and noted it could be the first of many inter-Greek routes should the Greek Government accept Ryanair’s tourism rescue plan for Greece.

Low-cost airline Ryanair has report profits after tax of €569 million for the year to March 31st, a 13 per cent increase on the figure from the previous year. The figure comes on revenues of €4.88 billion euros.

Low cost carrier Ryanair has announced record coach transfer bookings following the launch of its partnership with Europe’s largest scheduled coach operator, National Express, which offers Ryanair passengers travelling to/from London and Manchester affordable and direct coach travel.

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost carrier (ULCC), has presented a Greek tourism rescue plan to the Transport Minister Kostas Chatzidakis which could see Ryanair grow its Greek traffic to 10m passengers p.a. by 2016, on the day Ryanair opened its 1st Greek base (and 57th in total) at Chania.

Ryanair has announced an extension of its reserved seating service, moving from six to eight rows on all aircraft with the addition of rows 32 and 33. The move will allow up to 45 passengers per flight to pre-book their preferred seats on eight reserved rows.

Ryanair, Europe’s only ultra-low cost carrier, is to launcha new Shannon route to/from Alicante, beginning in June, with 2 weekly return flights.
