Ryanair and Manchester Airport Group have announced they have concluded a ten year growth agreement at London Stansted Airport. The parties hope the deal will see Ryanair grow its traffic at Stansted by over 50 per cent, from 13.2 million passengers in 2012 to over 20 million passengers per annum in return for a package of lower costs and more efficient facilities at Stansted.

Ryanair, the UK’s largest airline, today announced that it would add additional daily frequencies from October on its five main Ireland-UK routes in a direct response to similar flight increases recently announced by Aer Lingus for the 2013-14 winter schedule. Aer Lingus’ decision to increase flight frequencies on these UK routes further undermines the discredited UKCC investigation into Ryanair’s 6 ½ year old minority (29%) stake in Aer Lingus.

IATA statistics have confirmed Ryanair carried more international passengers than any other airline last year. The Irish low-cost carrier welcomed 79.6 million international passengers on to its flights last year, almost 29 million more than second-placed Lufthansa (50.8 million) and 35 million more than third-placed easyJet (44.6 million).
