Royal Caribbean ships to cruise Europe 2013
Royal Caribbean International today announced that Liberty of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas will be among the cruise line’s ships in 2013 to offer sailings throughout Europe. Calling at 30 ports, the latest deployment plan features 121 sailings on 25 itineraries. Following the already announced Independence of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas’ deployment from Southampton, Royal Caribbean International’s 2013 Europe cruise offerings will feature five of the world’s largest and most innovative cruise ships, sailing to some of Europe’s must-see destinations
Royal Caribbean nominates Ann S. Moore for election to Board of Directors
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd announced today that the Board of Directors has nominated Ann S. Moore, former chairman and chief executive officer of Time Inc., for election as a director at the Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on May 31, 2012. If elected, Ms. Moore will serve for a three-year term, and the Board will expand from 11 to 12 members.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. today announced the transfer of Monarch of the Seas from its Royal Caribbean International cruise brand to its Pullmantur brand, a cruise and tour operator based in Madrid, Spain. Monarch of the Seas will transfer to Pullmantur on 1 April 2013, following its last sailing for Royal Caribbean International, which departs on 29 March 2013.

Royal Caribbean International’s Rhapsody of the Seas entered Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore to begin a month-long, $54 million drydock where it will undergo a major make-over and emerge with an array of new features. The ship revamp is the largest of its kind ever to take place in Singapore and will employ more than 800 local workers from the region.

Royal Caribbean Cruises has confirmed it will exercise its option to build a second Sunshine-class cruise ship to be delivered in the spring 2015. The ship will be built by German shipbuilder Meyer Werft on substantially the same terms as the first Sunshine ship.
