With Arabian Travel Market welcoming the global tourism industry Dubai, there was only one property many wanted to visit - Rixos The Palm Dubai. Here Breaking Travel News editor Chris O’Toole talks with Cenk Ünverdi, general manager of the property, about the importance of the event and the growth of tourism in Dubai.

Rixos Hotel has confirmed it will take part in the Arabian Travel Market, which opens in Dubai today. Rixos chief executive Bugra Berberoglu said general managers of the group’s international hotels would be attending the event to meet existing and potential partners from tour agencies to discuss further cooperation to attract more tourists to the group’s hotels in the UAE and further afield.

A touch of Turkish extravaganza from the Ottoman era is what guests at the Rixos The Palm Dubai can experience during this Ramada at the resort, which is located on Dubai’s iconic man made island The Palm Jumeirah. The Sutlan’s era is the theme for this Ramadan Tent as Breaking Travel News roving reporter Phil Blizzard discovered.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Rixos the Palm Dubai will be offering a Ramadan tent Qasr Al Sultan. The location is designed to resemble the Sultan’s palace in which people used to break their fasts, play games, smoke shisha and experience traditional Arabic entertainment.
