The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is planning to open its first hotel in Tunisia. The 129-room Ritz-Carlton Tunis, Carthage is set to open in late 2014 after the luxury hotel brand reached an agreement with developer Driss-Jenayah Group.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has opened its first hotel in Austria in the capital city of Vienna. The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna, a 202 room property located on the central Schubertring Boulevard, is the ninth hotel in Europe for the luxury hotel company.

The 532-room Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is set to open this later this year marking the hotel operator’s first foray into the United Arab Emirates capital city. The luxurious property, owned by Abu Dhabi National Hotels, features 447 luxurious guestrooms and suites, as well as 85 private villas.

Canadian national, Lynn Gervais, and Russian native, Valeria Mertsalova, have been appointed as director of public relations and public relations manager, respectively, of The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. Gervais commenced her role as director of public relations this month and, in her new capacity, oversees the hotel’s media relations functions, social media activities, e-marketing efforts, advertising, collateral and website content, community programs, and corporate brand messaging.

Ritz-Carlton has opened its first luxury resort in Japan, on the tropical island of Okinawa. Okinawa has been a popular getaway for generations of Japanese visitors but remains relatively unexplored by the international luxury traveller.
