Qantas’ Boeing 767 services from Sydney to Honolulu are now fitted with refreshed interiors and inflight entertainment technology, Q Streaming. Q Streaming utilises onboard WiFi throughout the aircraft to stream entertainment programs direct to iPads in every seat supplied by Qantas.

Australian flag-carrier Qantas has seen profits rise, boosted by compensation from Boeing after it cancelled 787 orders and amid narrowing losses on its international operations. The airline made a net profit of A$111 million in the six months to the end of December, up from A$42m a year earlier.

Officials at Tourism Australia have come out in support for chairman Geoff Dixon following a spat with Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce. Qantas launches additional capacity across Tasmania
Qantas today launched an additional 1,700 seats per week on services between Melbourne and Tasmania. Executive Manager John Gissing said the extra services will give customers more flexibility.
Qantas starts to offer long-haul services through Dubai
Qantas has taken the next steps towards establishing its new gateway to Europe and the UK, enabling customers to book flights through the global hub of Dubai for travel from March 31st 2013. The revised Qantas routes, Sydney-Dubai-London and Melbourne-Dubai-London, come as the ACCC considers the proposed Qantas-Emirates partnership, which remains subject to regulatory approval.

Amadeus and Qantas, the flag carrier of Australia, have announce the extension of a long-term, full content agreement that guarantees the tech giant’s users worldwide access to the carrier’s full range of fares, inventory and schedules. Travel professionals using the Amadeus system will continue to have access to the airline’s domestic and international schedules, fares, and last seat availability through the Amadeus system under the same conditions as those offered through the airline’s website qantas.com and other distribution channels.
