Boeing and Oman Air today celebrated the delivery of the airline’s first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The airline ordered six 787-8s in November 2011 as part of its expansion plans. “We are delighted to receive our first Dreamliner which combined with Oman Air’s award-winning service will provide an excellent travel experience for our customers,” said an Oman Air spokesperson.

Boeing has confirmed Oman Air has contracted for a suite of services to support the upcoming entry into service of the airline’s 787 Dreamliners and to ensure on-going efficiency and cost savings for its fleet. “Boeing’s industry-leading services will ensure a smooth introduction of our 787s while controlling costs, minimising component maintenance time and optimizing our fleet’s performance,” said Salim Al Kindy, chief technical officer, Oman Air.

Oman Air is to step up its operation from Muscat to Kuala Lumpur by offering daily non-stop flights to the Malaysian capital from June 1st 2015. The new service will meet growing demand for fast and convenient flights between the two cities, and will build on the success of the stopping service that Oman Air launched in 2010. Flights from Muscat will depart at 09:00 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 20:10, while flights from Kuala Lumpur will depart at 09:45 and touch down in Muscat at 12:30.
