Strong passenger figures for Norwegian
Norwegian carried more than 1.5 million passengers in February 2014, an increase of 22 per cent compared to February last year. The load factor also increased, despite strong capacity growth. In February, 1,527,099 passengers flew with Norwegian.
Norwegian slips to loss as expansion continues
Scandinavian budget carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle has reported a loss in the fourth quarter and sharply lower profits for 2013. The declines were the result of heavy investments in new long-haul aircraft, the airline said in a statement to markets.

Norwegian carried more than 1.6 million passengers in December, with the month characterised by solid passenger and capacity growth, as well as a higher load factor. The airline carried 1,604,937 passengers during the month, an increase of 338,131 passengers, or 27 per cent, when compared to the same month in 2012.

Boeing links with Norwegian for maintenance applications
Boeing has announced Norwegian Air Shuttle has signed an agreement to implement Boeing’s new suite of mobile maintenance applications to enhance productivity and efficiency in its line maintenance operations. With these applications available on iPad devices, Norwegian maintenance technicians will have real-time, mobile access to technical manuals, part numbers and parts inventory availability, maintenance history and other information needed to support time-critical maintenance tasks.
Norwegian places order for two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners
Norwegian has continued to expand its international operations by signing an agreement with MG Aviation to lease two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Both aircraft are scheduled to be in operation during the first quarter of 2016.

Norwegian carried almost 1.7 million passengers in November, an increase of 16 per cent compared to the same month previous year. The company continues to expand in Europe by taking delivery of brand new aircraft, increased seat capacity, establishing new operational bases and introducing new routes.

Norwegian has continued to expand in Europe with the company announcing plans to establish a new base in Barcelona, Spain, in spring 2014. Along with the new base, Norwegian will also launch new routes from Barcelona to Sandefjord Torp, Hamburg, Berlin and Warsaw.

Norwegian and Gatwick has announced a long term commercial partnership that will see the airline grow its business at the airport. Norwegian started UK operations at Gatwick in 2009, moving from Stansted Airport.
Norwegian opens new base in Madrid, Spain
Norwegian has continued to expand in Europe and will open a new base of operations in Madrid in summer 2014. Along with the new base, the company also launches six new routes from Madrid to Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Hamburg, Warsaw and London.
