Nottingham’s railway is undergoing its biggest transformation in a generation.  A major improvement scheme is currently ongoing to redevelop Nottingham station into a world-class transport hub, and Network Rail will shortly begin work on a £100 million project to rebuild the rail infrastructure around the city.  This scheme will help to future-proof Nottingham’s railway for the increasing number of passengers and deliver improved reliability.

The final plans to build a £5.2m new station to serve Energlyn and Churchill Park were unveiled yesterday at a public exhibition. Residents are being encouraged to come and view the plans and meet the teams who will build the new station over a six-month period this year.

Network Rail is proposing to build the new station as part of its commitment to increase capacity on the railway and deliver better facilities for passengers in Medway and Kent. The new station, which is planned for land at Corporation Street, is part of a wider £135m investment programme in the county by Network Rail as the number of passengers using the railway continues to grow.
