City Thameslink Station to get £4.5m Upgrade
City Thameslink station is about to undergo a major facelift as part of the £5.5bn Thameslink rail upgrade. Network Rail is investing £4.5m to improve infrastructure at the station, which is a key gateway to the City of London and is used by more than seven million passengers each year.
Regulator’s Targets Beaten
Network Rail reported today that it had beaten almost all the main regulatory targets set for the company for the past five years.
Robots used to fight fires involving Acetylene cylinders
A new robot-based service has been launched to help fight fires and support other major incidents, in particular those where acetylene gas cylinders which can become highly unstable are involved. The initiative, which is jointly funded by Network Rail, will minimise disruption to major transport systems in and around London and help protect fire fighters.
