Marriott was the highest ranked lodging company on the list. This is the tenth consecutive year that Marriott has been named to the InformationWeek 500. Marriott International has unveiled plans to open 21 hotels through to the end of 2013, adding nearly 7,000 rooms to the previously-announced Asian Pacific pipeline of 37 hotels and 9,400 rooms. The additions form a major part of the company’s global development pipeline of 110,000 rooms.

Bombs have exploded devastating the Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott Hotels in the Indonesian Capitol of Jakarta. The bombs are believed to have exploded minutes from each other, one in the basement car park of the Marriott and one on the first floor restaurant of the Ritz Carlton .

Interstate Hotels & Resorts,  a leading hotel real estate investor and the nation’s largest independent management company, today announced that it has opened the 299-room, full-service integrated Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square and Lancaster County Convention Center, comprising a combined 90,000 square feet of meeting space.  Interstate has been actively involved in the development of the project for more than a decade, including feasibility, construction oversight and devising marketing strategies to maximize the overall economic benefit for Lancaster County.  The $177-million hotel and convention center project is a joint venture of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Lancaster, Lancaster County Convention Center Authority and private developer Penn Square Partners.  Interstate operates both parts of the integrated facility.

The property is opposite the Aeronautic Park, approximately 4 kilometers from Toulouse-Blagnac International Airport and a short distance from the home of Airbus Industries in Aeronautic Park.
