Korean Air returns to black following revenue increase
Korean Air has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2012, posting operating income of KRW3,119 billion for the period. This is a year-on-year increase of 9.9 per cent. Operating profit turned to black from a loss of KRW38 billion in the same period of last year to a profit of KRW100 billion.

Korea Tourism launches campaign for Olympics
The Korea Tourism Organisation is set to unveil a four week digital Outdoor Advertising campaign ‘Buzz Korea’ on the Piccadilly Lite digital screen. The advertising will launch on Monday 16th July ahead of the Opening Ceremony of the Games and run until the Closing Ceremony on 12th August.
Jet fuel cost rise prompts quarterly loss at Korean Air
Korean Air has announced its quarterly results for the first three months of 2012, ended March 31st, 2012, posting operating revenue of 2,880.2 billion KRW. The figure is up 5.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. However, due to a surge in jet fuel expenses, the airline reported operating loss at 114.7 billion KRW, and a net loss is resulted during the period.
Korean Air to sponsor 17th Asian Games
Korean Air has become the official sponsor of the 17th Asian Games to be held in Incheon in September 2014. The carrier signed the MOU to officially sponsor the 2014 Incheon Asian Games at the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) advisory board meeting in Bangkok, Thailand earlier.

London performs well for Korean Air
Korean Air has announced that passenger sales from London for 2011, when compared to 2010, were up 3% overall, with revenue up 9%. Prestige (Business) Class was the best performer in London, sales were up 10% and revenue up 24%. Both First and Economy sales from London were also up.
Korean Air reports losses, launches new routes
Korean Air has recorded a net loss of KRW98.2 billion (US$87 million) for financial 2011, compared with a net profit of KRW623.9 billion a year earlier. Also today, Korean Air confirmed it will commence a new three times weekly service from London Gatwick to Seoul on April 29th.
