New leadership for Korean Air in UK
Korean Air has appointed Jason Kim as UK & Ireland regional manager, taking over from James Park, who has returned to the airlines’ head office in Seoul, Korea. Kim, who is based at the company’s offices in London Piccadilly, has been with Korean Air since 1996 and was previously general manager for Australia, based in Melbourne.
Korean Air takes minority stake in Czech Airlines
Korean Air and Czech Airlines have formalised Korean Air’s acquisition of 44 per cent of the Czech airline at a signing ceremony in Prague. By acquiring the stake, Korean Air becomes the airline’s second largest shareholder.
Korean Air signs codeshare deal with Myanmar Airways
Korean Air has signed a partnership and codeshare memorandum of understanding with Myanmar Airways International. Korean Air chief operating officer Chang Hoon Chi was joined by Myanmar Airways managing director Si Thu for a signing ceremony at Korean Air’s headquarters earlier.

Korean Air signs broad Amadeus agreement
Korean Air and Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, have signed a full content agreement providing travel agencies worldwide guaranteed access to the full range of fares and inventory through the Amadeus system. The agreement ensures that Korean Air’s schedules, fares and inventory content is available through all Amadeus points of sale worldwide, including travel agencies and travel management companies.
Korea Air launches new Saudi flights
Korean Air has launched flights between Seoul/Incheon and the Saudi Arabian cities of Riyadh and Jeddah. The Seoul/Incheon-Riyadh-Jeddah route will be operated with an Airbus 330-200, seating 218 passengers and equipped with Korean Air’s premium seats.
Robust trading at Korean Air
Korean Air has announced its financial results for the third quarter of financial 2012, posting net income of KRW340 billion for the period. Despite global external conditions, the airline recorded operating profit of KRW 313 billion for the period ending September 30th, showing a 30.5 per cent increase on the same period in 2011.
