The ITB Berlin CareerCenter is the ideal springboard for career starters and experienced professionals to find the new job of their dreams in the tourism industry. From 6 to 10 March 2013 the Berlin Exhibition Grounds will once again be the meeting place of the international travel industry. Anyone interested in a tourism industry career can find out about the latest job vacancies and meet representatives of leading hotel chains, cruise companies and tour operators in Hall 5.1. At the ITB Job Exchange visitors can meet with personnel managers and apply for the job of their dreams on the spot.

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) – the principal authority for the planning, supervision and development of the tourism sector in Dubai – is to participate at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) 2013, one of the leading gatherings of the global tourism industry.
ITB Berlin 2013: Opening Report
ITB Berlin has opened for the 2013 event, with 10,086 exhibitors from 188 countries welcomed to the show. The 26 halls on the Messe Berlin exhibition grounds are all booked up, with a record number of two-tier stands at the show this year. Christian Göke, chief operating officer, Messe Berlin, said: “At ITB Berlin exhibitors and trade visitors can gain a representative and up-to-the-minute overview of the travel industry’s entire value chain.”
ITB Berlin 2013: Chancellor Merkel to open ITB Berlin 2013
Organisers at ITB Berlin have confirmed the event will be opened by German chancellor Angela Merkel for the first time. Invitations have been issued by ITB Berlin to attend the opening ceremonies, which will take place in Hall 1 of the ICC Berlin at 18:00 on March 5th, one day before the start of the show.
UNWTO activities at ITB 2013
UNWTO events at ITB Travel Trade Show 2013 include the 3rd Silk Road Ministers’ meeting, a session on consumer protection, and a meeting of the World Tourism Network on Child Protection, as well as the first UNWTO meeting exclusively dedicated to “Tourism and Intangible Cultural Heritage,” among others from March 6-10, 2013 in Berlin, Germany.
500 senior buyers to be at ITB Buyers’ Circle
Satisfied buyers and contracts with a value in individual cases of as much as five million euros marked the successful start of the ITB Buyers’ Circle. Some 500 leading buyers representing small and medium-sized companies as well as some of the major groups in the worldwide travel industry made use of the services provided by the first ITB Buyers’ Circle at ITB Berlin 2012. According to a recent survey 85 per cent of participants valued this opportunity to obtain free admission to this event and 82 per cent were satisfied with the arrangement granting them access to the Exhibition Grounds from 9 a.m. onwards.

All exhibition visitors travelling with airberlin to this year’s International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in the German capital have reason to celebrate: airberlin will be serving the popular curried sausage known as Currywurst as a free snack on all domestic German flights to Berlin after 10:00 am from 5th to 8th March.
