Three simultaneous explosions have rocked Mumbai nearly three years after militants killed over 164 people in an assault on the Indian city. The financial heart of the city was attacked during rush-hour, with eight people feared dead and over one hundred injured.

Building work is set to begin on a second international airport in Mumbai following an agreement between the City Industrial & Development Corporation and the Environment Ministry. This being India, however, there are strings attached, with backers of the airport forced to acquiesce to a number of strict environmental conditions in order to get plans for Navi Mumbai airport off the ground.
