Iberia has launched its new website with innovations that promises to revolutionise on-line relations between the airline and its customers. The new site, which the airline claims is much easier to use, automatically adapts to the needs and tastes of each customer, providing personalised treatment and greater scope for interaction.
Iberia to allow larger hand luggage of flights
As of 3rd July, the new maximum dimensions for hand luggage allowed on board Iberia flights are 56 x 45 x 25 cm, substantially more generous than the current top measurements of 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
Change of leadership as Iberia battles for profitability
International Airlines Group and Rafael Sánchez-Lozano have decided by mutual agreement that he will step down as chief executive of Iberia and from the IAG board with immediate effect. He will be replaced by Luis Gallego who is currently chief executive of Iberia’s subsidiary Iberia Express.
Finnair enters joint business with oneworld partners
American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia celebrate a key milestone today as fellow oneworld alliance member Finnair announces its intent to join the transatlantic joint business, established by the three airlines in October 2010. Iberia has launched a new product for members of the Iberia Plus loyalty programme, marking its 21st anniversary. “Avios & Money” enables members to pay for flights using both real money and “Avios”, the new name for frequent flyers points of the Iberia Plus programme.
American Airlines given approval for Iberia Express code-share
American Airlines and Iberia Express, a subsidiary of American’s joint business partner, Iberia, received approval from the United States department of transportation for a new code-share agreement. This agreement allows American to place its code on flights marketed by Iberia, and operated by Iberia Express, between its Madrid hub and 14 destinations throughout Europe.
