Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 880-guest Boudicca has begun an extensive refit at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany. The ship will then return to the UK for a five-night D1804 ‘Mystery Cruise’, departing from Dover on March 29th.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has appointed Ben Williams as its new head of marketing, with effect from March. Williams has been promoted from his previous role as Fred. Olsen’s e-business manager – in charge of the company’s website and social media communications – and will take responsibility for developing the brand and marketing strategy.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 804-guest Black Watch will enter dry dock at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany in November 2016, in preparation for the forthcoming 2017/18 cruise season. The ship will undergo various engineering works, general maintenance and refurbishment during the dry dock, as well as the creation of several new public areas and guest facilities, as part of a multi-million Pound investment.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ 880-guest ship Boudicca is returning to Liverpool’s iconic Pier Head Cruise Terminal on August 14th with a 15-night sailing to the ‘Fjords of Greenland’. Fred. Olsen’s stylish Boudicca has operated a split season from the city this year, with five sailings from Liverpool from May to July 2016, interspersed with two calls in Greenock and two calls in Belfast in July and early August.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has revealed that it has received a boost to its ‘Wave Season’ sales, with the first week of January 2016 being the most successful in the company’s history. The line broke records in both yield and volume terms. Sales are up 27 per cent on the same time last year, a record-breaker.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has appointed Neil Herbert as its new head of sales, to replace Lol Nichols, who retires at the end of January 2016, after 23 years’ service with the company. Herbert commences his new role on January 11th, and will be responsible for managing Fred. Olsen’s UK sales teams, as well as developing and growing UK travel trade relations.
