Air France has confirmed it will launch a new service from East Midlands Airport to the rest of the world via Paris through a new code share partnership with Flybe. The twice-daily service that commences from October 28th 2012 will give business and leisure travellers from the East Midlands region the opportunity to connect with Air France’s extensive global network of 180 destinations from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Flybe will start operating its fully expanded schedule from East Midlands Airport on Monday September 10th with two much-needed popular routes serving Edinburgh and Glasgow returning following bmi baby’s withdrawal of the services in June.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline welcomed wholeheartedly the publication of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Aviation’s report into its Inquiry into Aviation Policy and Air Passenger Duty (APD). In it, the APPG calls, among other things, for the government to undertake an economic analysis of the impact of APD on the UK economy and to protect UK regional access to any future UK hub airport.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and the UK’s Number One Domestic carrier, has added another new route to regional France from Southampton International Airport, this time to Nantes, Brittany’s most important commercial hub and the sixth largest city in France, with a daily year-round service starting on 28th October.

Flybe has launched its first mobile website optimised for a wide variety of devices including iPhone, Blackberry, Windows 7 and Android that is currently available in four languages namely English, Finnish, French and German. It offers customers the ability to search and book all direct and indirect services available while on the move via their mobile devices, including those offered by Flybe’s franchise partner, Loganair.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced an increase in its hand baggage dimensions that with immediate effect sets a new maximum bag size of 55x40x23cm, equating to a 20% increase in volume over the previous limit.  To ensure that passengers are able to avail themselves of the very best deal available, the airline has also teamed up with Antler luggage to offer the opportunity of purchasing a quality approved cabin bag for £50, a significant saving on the regular retail price of £120.
