Expedia India and bus ticketing company RedBus have announced a new partnership aimed at making Expedia a one stop shop for travel planning. In its pursuit to offer a localised and complete travel booking solution to the Indian consumer, Expedia today announced the addition of bus tickets to its existing range of services for their customers.

Competition regulator the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has objected to deals struck between Intercontinental Hotels Group and online travel agents Booking.com and Expedia, claiming they have infringed competition law in relation to the online supply of room only hotel accommodation by online travel agents.

Expedia saw profits fall 25 per cent in the second quarter, but still comfortably beat analysts estimates to see share prices rise. Net profit at the online travel giant fell to $105.2 million in the three months to June 30th, with shares gaining more than 14 per cent in after hours trading.
