EVA Air to offer onboard WiFi from 2013
EVA Air has announced plans to provide in-flight mobile and WiFi communications aboard its brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Approved by Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration, this new service will be made available on the new aircraft in 2014, making EVA Air the first airline in Taiwan to secure approval for its passengers to make mobile phone calls and use WiFi in-flight.

EVA Air expands Japan flights
EVA Air will increase its capacity to Hakodate, the third-largest city on Japan’s northernmost island, Hokkaido. With the launch of its new Taipei and Hakodate service, EVA Air will further cement its credentials as Taiwan’s leading independent airline.

EVA adapts iPads to advance onboard service and safety

In the video, Apple highlights EVA Air for its use of the iPad as a flight-crew tool for advancing flight safety and service quality. EVA is the only Asian carrier to be featured in Apple’s business profiles program.

EVA Air launches United code-share service
EVA Air and United Airlines have confirmed they will introduce co-shared services from tomorrow. Initially, the new cooperation enables EVA passengers to more easily connect from Asia to Midwestern and Southern regions of the United States and those flying United from Cleveland and Houston to more readily access Pacific Rim destinations.

EVA Air launches Hello Kitty Jet
EVA Air has launched its new Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet on a flight from Taipei to Tokyo. Hello Kitty characters joined EVA officials at the Taoyuan International Airport departure gate to see passengers off on a fun flight.

EVA Air to purchase seven Boeing 777-300ER aircraft
EVA Air has confirmed it will add seven more brand-new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to its fleet. EVA president K.W. Chang, Boeing Commercial Airplanes senior vice president of sales Ray Conner and GE vice chairman John Rice signed the deal in Taipei earlier.

EVA Air places order for three Boeing 777s
Boeing and Taipei-based EVA Air today finalised an order for three 777-300ERs extended range airplanes. The order also includes purchase rights for an additional four airplanes.

EVA Air set for Star Alliance membership
The chief executive board of Star Alliance has unanimously accepted the membership application of EVA Air of Taiwan. Mark Schwab, chief executive of Star Alliance, said: “EVA Air is a very good fit for Star Alliance as the airline will add many new routes to our global network, with a specific focus on the growing Far East aviation market.”

EVA, All Nippon work together to expand Japan service
