Etihad Airways signs a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to strengthen the relationship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, at Arabian Travel Market 2025. The agreement aims to promote tourism to Thailand through Etihad’s extensive global network. Aligning with Etihad’s mission to deliver extraordinary travel experiences, the MoC will see both organisations advocating high-quality travel experiences in Thailand through collaborative activities and promotion.

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways is not seeing any effects from the turmoil caused by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies, its CEO Antonoaldo Neves told Reuters on Monday, while adding it was too early to fully gauge the impact of the levies. Trump’s announcement of sweeping tariffs on dozens of U.S. trading partners this month - and then his pausing of most of them - created widespread market uncertainty and raised fears of a global economic downturn.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is significantly expanding its African network with new destinations and increased frequencies, reinforcing its commitment to the continent’s growing demand for air connectivity. Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, commented: “At Etihad, we have long recognised the need to strengthen our presence in Africa. Over the past year, we have been focusing on a holistic approach that enhances our presence by expanding our fleet, increasing frequencies, and forming key partnerships.”

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is expanding its global network yet further with the launch of flights to Peshawar, Pakistan, starting 29 September 2025. The new route will connect Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi (AUH) with Bacha Khan International Airport (PEW) in Peshawar, offering seamless connections to Etihad’s growing list of dots on its route map.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is making flights to Medan, the gateway to Northern Sumatra, available for booking from today. The airline will start flights between Kualanamu International Airport (KNO), Medan and Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi (AUH) on 2 October 2025, operating on one of its new A321LR aircraft three times a week, timed to make the most of a leisure break.

Etihad Airways has announced 10 new Cadet Pilot scholarship places for internal candidates of all nationalities, in its newly established Employee Cadet Pilot programme. The new programme builds on the extraordinary success of the UAE National Cadet Programme launched last year which received more than 2000 applications. Honouring the 145 nationalities within Etihad, the airline has rewarded 10 current staff members with the unique opportunity to make lateral career moves and embark on a full scholarship with Etihad’s two-year Employee Cadet Pilot programme.
