Etihad Airways president James Hogan emphasised the importance of consumer choice and innovation as the fundamental drivers of competition in the international airline industry. The comments came during a public conversation before an audience of approximately 4,000 attendees at the 2015 Global Business Travel Association Convention in Orlando.
Etihad inks Thai tourism deal at Expo Milano
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and The Tourism Authority of Thailand have signed a landmark US$1.25 million agreement to increase tourism to Thailand. Under the new agreement, the Abu Dhabi-based airline and TAT will jointly promote travel to Thailand from priority markets including the United Arab Emirates, UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa, Iran and Kuwait.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has expanded its codeshare agreement with Hong Kong Airlines to provide travellers with enhanced connections between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Under the expanded codeshare agreement, Hong Kong Airlines will place its ‘HX’ flight code on Etihad Airways’ flights between Hong Kong, the world’s third most important financial centre, and Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE.
Etihad adds Scotland to route network
Etihad Airways will connect the Middle East to the Scottish capital with the launch this week of daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Edinburgh. Edinburgh is Etihad Airways’ first Scottish destination, and its third point in the UK, alongside a triple-daily operation to London Heathrow and double-daily flights to Manchester.
