Etihad Airways has appointed Neerja Bhatia to the position of vice president India & Indian Sub-Continent. Bhatia joined Etihad Airways in 2004 as sales manager Western India, shortly after the airline had launched its flights to Mumbai, its first Indian destination.

Etihad Airways has appointed Sajida Ismail as vice president service and hospitality to lead service design and development of the hospitality culture across all areas of the business. Reporting to Shane O’Hare, Etihad Airways senior vice president marketing, Ismail will be responsible for the design of Etihad Airways’ award-winning signature service at all customer touch points. She will also be responsible for the development of training standards for all staff working inflight, and at airports, lounges, and crew training centres.

Etihad Airways has expanded its codeshare partnership with Belavia - Belarusian Airlines, to offer travellers a daily service between Abu Dhabi and Kiev, Ukraine, via Minsk National Airport. Under the agreement Etihad Airways has placed its EY flight code on Belavia’s daily services between Minsk and Kiev. Belavia and Etihad Airways signed an initial codeshare agreement in 2013, allowing travellers to fly on Etihad-operated flights from Minsk to Abu Dhabi, and onwards to Ho Chi Minh City, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Etihad Airways has appointed Lindsay White to the new position of vice president for Australia and Asia Pacific. In this role, White will assume responsibility for the entire Asia Pacific region, adding China, Japan, Korea and Thailand to his current portfolio of Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Based at Etihad Airways’ new offices in Sandton, Johannesburg, Bradley will oversee key sales strategies across seven countries in Africa with the objective of accelerating the growth of Etihad’s revenues through expanded distribution and segmentation strategies which increase awareness of the airline and its market share across the region.

The launch this weekend of Etihad Airways’ second daily non-stop service will connect Melbourne with more of the world’s great cities and create new opportunities for international commerce and trade. The new service will be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with eight seats in First Class, 40 in Business Class and 280 in Economy Class. It complements the airline’s existing daily non-stop B777 flight between Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.
