Amadeus renews full content partnership with Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways and Amadeus have renewed their full content agreement that ensures Amadeus-connected travel agencies and travellers continue to have access to the airline’s full inventory of flights, seats and other services. Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways chief commercial officer, said: “The guest experience is at the core of everything we do at Etihad Airways.”
Al Mehairi to lead Etihad operations in Canada
Etihad Airways has appointed Fatma Al Mehairi as general manager for Canada, becoming the first female Emirati to be named general manager of a region at the airline. In total, more than 130 Emirati women are employed in various management development programs as part of the airline’s workforce.
Etihad to expand services to Istanbul, Turkey
Etihad Airways will expand its services to Istanbul during 2016 with a new four times weekly service to Sabiha Gokcen Airport. The service will commence on July 1st 2016 and be served by an Airbus A320-200, with 16 seats in business and 120 in economy. The route will provide more travel options for guests travelling between the UAE and Istanbul as well as access to over thirty two-way connected markets and over 240 weekly connections around the world over the Abu Dhabi hub.
Etihad Airways signs Taste Festivals partnership
Etihad Airways has signed a multi-year partnership with Taste Festivals. The airline, along with many of its Etihad Airways Partners, will have a presence at 15 Taste festivals scheduled in 2016, beginning with Taste of Hong Kong and Taste of Sydney.
New leadership for Etihad Airways in United States
Etihad Airways has appointed Craig Thomas as general manager for the United States. Thomas, the first general manager for the United States in the airline’s history, will be based in New York where he will be responsible for all commercial activity for Etihad Airways, as well as further growing the airline’s relationships with trade and corporate partners with immediate effect.
Continued growth for Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways will commence its third daily A380 service to London Heathrow this year and will add two new A380 destinations of Mumbai and Melbourne, while the Boeing 787 will start flying to five new cities. This is on the back of delivering solid operational performance in 2015 with continued growth in passenger volumes.

Etihad Airways launches latest stage of airberlin legal battle
Etihad Airways today launched fresh legal action in a bid to overturn a German court’s decision to revoke the approval for 29 of its codeshare flights with airberlin. Last week, the Administrative Court of Braunschweig decided that the German ministry of transport was entitled to reject the 29 Etihad Airways-airberlin codeshares, which had been approved only until January 15th 2016.
Etihad-airberlin codeshare deal hit by German court
A court in Germany has ruled that Etihad Airways and airberlin cannot continue codesharing arrangements on some of their routes beyond mid-January. Abu Dhabi-based Etihad holds a 29.2 per cent stake in Germany’s second-largest airline and their codesharing provides important income for airberlin.

Etihad Airways has opened the doors to a new world-class medical facility in Abu Dhabi for its employees. The complex includes an aviation clinic, employee visa medical centre, as well as an Emirates ID centre. Etihad Airways expands codeshare deal with S7
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is expanding its codeshare partnership with S7 Airlines to cover eight additional destinations from the Russian carrier’s Moscow hub.Effective January 16th 2016, Etihad Airways will place its EY code on S7 Airlines’ domestic services between Moscow and Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Novy Urengoy, Omsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi.
