Emirates cancels Airbus A350 order following review
Emirates Airline, the flag-carrier of Dubai, has cancelled an order for 70 Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft, according to a release from the manufacturer. European giant Airbus said the decision followed a “fleet requirement review” by the Middle Eastern carrier.
FIFA World Cup 2014: Emirates unveils first ‘Pelé-ane’
With the FIFA World Cup reaching Brazil, Emirates, an Official FIFA Worldwide Partner, has unveil the first Boeing 777-300ER to feature the distinguishable signature of Emirates’ Global Ambassador and three times World Cup winner, Pelé. The first Emirates Pelé-ane will be connecting football fans with the action this summer on the Dubai to São Paolo route.
Frankfurt added to Emirates’ A380 network
Emirates has revealed Frankfurt, the financial epicentre of Germany, will be the next destination slated for its flagship A380 aircraft. The daily A380 service will start on September 1st. Thierry Antinori, executive vice president, Emirates, said: “Frankfurt was one of the first European destinations for Emirates and as the financial capital of Germany it continues to be strategically important.”
Emirates brings A380 to Vienna for first time
Emirates operated a one-off A380 service last night to mark its ten-year anniversary and continued commitment to Austria. This important milestone signals the first ever commercially scheduled A380 service to Vienna International Airport. Emirates has been flying to Austria since May 2004.
Emirates celebrates as Real Madrid pick up tenth European Cup
Real Madrid have secured a tenth European Cup with a 4-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Final. Their victory is being celebrated by their sponsorship-partner Emirates Airline. Last year, Emirates Airline and Real Madrid signed a five year shirt sponsorship deal of the club until the end of the 2017/2018 season.
German chancellor Angela Merkel tours Emirates Airbus A380
Emirates, a global connector of people and places, is showcasing its Airbus A380 aircraft from May 20th-25th at the 2014 ILA Berlin Air Show. The aircraft on display is Emirates’ 48th A380 in its fleet and was delivered directly from Airbus in Hamburg Finkenwerder to the show site, allowing ILA visitors to be among the first guests on-board the brand new double-decker.
Emirates adds fifth daily flight to Singapore
Emirates will introduce a fifth daily flight between Dubai and Singapore, starting August 1st 2014. This will bring Emirates’ total number of flights between the two cities to 35 a week, with 28 non-stop services and seven flights via Colombo, in addition to Emirates’ daily services from Singapore to Brisbane and Melbourne.
Emirates increases Seychelles flights to double daily
Emirates has announced it will step up its operations to the Seychelles by increasing services to double daily later this year. The introduction of two more flights per week on the route into the Seychelles will increase the existing 12 scheduled flights to fourteen bringing operations to double daily from the October 28th this year.

Dubai International runway upgrade sees Emirates cut flights
Emirates airline will continue to serve all of its worldwide destinations during the 80 day period of runway upgrading works at Dubai International starting May 1st, the airline has confirmed. However, the Dubai-based carrier has had to reduce flights to over 40 destinations, and change timings on some of its flights.
