Emirates revamps corporate loyalty programme
Emirates has revamped its corporate loyalty programme, Emirates Business Rewards. The airline hopes the new programme has been simplified and made more competitive to allow for easier redemptions and upgrades even on last minute bookings.
Emirates continues to grow operations at Manchester Airport
Emirates revealed the ongoing demand for its Manchester to Dubai route, reporting a 9.5 per cent annual growth on 2015. A total of 610,000 passengers have flown between the two cities this year, and Emirates is all set to hit the record milestone of 1,000,000 during the 2016 financial year.
Emirates to bring A380 to Christchurch route
Emirates A380s will fly between Dubai and New Zealand five times daily from October 30th with the introduction of the airline’s double-decker flagship aircraft on Christchurch services. Emirates will be the first airline to offer regular scheduled A380 services to and from Christchurch with the upgrade of the current daily Christchurch service from Boeing 777-300ERs, along with the removal of the en-route stop in Bangkok which will enable passengers to travel all the way between Christchurch and Dubai, with just one stop in Sydney.
Emirates enhances service to Khartoum
Emirates is set to upgrade its service between Dubai and Khartoum with the deployment of a larger Boeing 777-300ER on the route from 1st September 2016. The Boeing 777 will replace the current Airbus A340-300 and offer travellers on the route an enhanced on-board product experience and additional seats in Economy Class.
Emirates to bring A380 to Guangzhou route in October
Emirates has announced that it will operate its flagship A380 on services between Dubai and Guangzhou from October 1st, the 67th National Day of People’s Republic of China. This follows the airline’s recent announcements of A380 deployment on its Milan and Johannesburg routes.
Emirates launches new dual-stop departure to Yangon and Hanoi
Emirates recently enhanced its presence in south-east Asia with the launch of a new daily linked service from Dubai to Yangon in Myanmar, and onwards to Hanoi in Vietnam. This new service, which is being operated with a Boeing 777-300ER, expands the airline’s network in Southeast Asia to 12 cities in seven countries and offers more choices and convenience to passengers travelling between Hanoi and Yangon to Dubai and beyond.
Emirates plane crash lands in Dubai
An Emirates Boeing 777 on route from Thiruvananthapuram, India, has crash landed in Dubai International Airport. Flight EK521 made an emergency landing earlier with 275 passengers on-board. There are no reports of any injuries, with all passengers able to disembark safely.
Travelport signs major partnership with Emirates
Travelport has announced the renewal of both its global full content and IT agreements with Emirates. The strengthened partnership will see Emirates offer Travelport connected agencies in 180 countries - serving hundreds of millions of travellers around the world - continued access to all of Emirates’ fares and inventory through the Travel Commerce Platform.
Emirates to deploy Airbus A380 on Johannesburg route
Emirates will be upgrading one of its four daily flights between Dubai and Johannesburg to an Airbus A380-800 from February 2017. Emirates currently uses Boeing 777 aircraft for each of the four daily flights between the two cities, making it the busiest route in the airline’s African network with over three million passengers carried in the last five years.
Emirates increases capacity to Milan, Italy
Emirates has unveiled plans to increase capacity on the Dubai-Milan route with the deployment of a second daily A380. The migration from a Boeing 777-300ER to the double decker represents a capacity increase of 1,834 seats per week between the two cities; enabling more A380 to A380 connections to and from key destinations in Australia, China, South Korea and south-east Asia with just one stop in Dubai.
Emirates A380 touches down in LA and Vienna
Emirates has launched its second daily A380 service from Dubai International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport. With this expanded schedule, Emirates is now able to serve nearly 1,000 passengers travelling to Los Angeles each day. Also on the same day Vienna joined the family of A380 scheduled destinations served by an Emirates A380.
Emirates enhances service to Dakar, Senegal
Emirates has revealed that its service between Dubai and Dakar, currently operated by an Airbus A340-300, will be replaced with a Boeing 777-300ER from September. The change to the larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will offer an enhanced on-board experience for Emirates’ Senegalese customers and those travelling to Dakar from across the airline’s network.
