easyjet appoints new chairman
Low cost carrier easyjet has named John Barton, the chairman of fashion retailer Next, as its new chairman. Barton is expected to take up the post from May 1, succeeding Sir Mike Rake.
easyJet introduces new designed lightweight seats
easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, is today introducing new, lightweight and more comfortable seats onboard all of its new aircraft. The first of 14 new aircraft with the new seats onboard is being delivered today with the remainder due for delivery between now and the end of next summer. The look of the cabin has also been redesigned to create a more modern feel. The new seat cover is grey with orange accents and is complimented by a new carpet and specially designed easyJet orange aisle lighting.
easyJet celebrates its first successful year at London Southend
easyJet has celebrated its one year anniversary at London Southend Airport, with passengers, staff and children from the local community who were invited to participate in a paper plane ‘origami master class’ and competition to mark the occasion. A huge easyJet orange, origami paper plane was unveiled in the check-in area by easyJet UK commercial manager Hugh Aitken and London Southend Airport managing director Alastair Welch.
easyJet launches winter 2013 schedule
easyJet has put its winter 2013 schedule of flights on sale adding more than 71,000 flights which will take off between 27 October 2013 – 2 March 2014. Flying from 11 UK bases, more than 11 million seats on over 300 routes are available now for customers to choose from.
easyJet to fly to Moscow from London Gatwick
Low-cost carrier easyJet has launched its first flight between London Gatwick and Moscow. This is the first time Moscow has been served from London Gatwick airport, with the airline expecting to fly more than a quarter of a million passengers between London and Moscow annually.
easyJet to offer flights to Bergen, Norway
easyJet has announced the launch of its first ever services from London Gatwick to Bergen - also known as the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’, in Norway. Norway will be the 33rd country easyJet flies to with the airline expecting to carry more than 100,000 passengers between Norway and the UK annually.

easyjet adds Copenhagen service
Low cost carrier easyJet is increasing its services between London Gatwick and Copenhagen with an early morning departure from Copenhagen and an evening departure from London Gatwick. The move will see easyJet’s flights increase from three to four each day from 24 May 2013.
easyJet launches Sharm el-Sheikh route
easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, celebrated its new Sharm el-Sheikh route with a camel meet and greet at check-in this morning. Bringing a flavour of Egypt to London Stansted Airport, Kokoso the camel was available for all to see at easyJet’s check-in area today - Monday 25 February. To celebrate the launch of its new route easyJet invited pupils from Great Dunmow Primary School to come along to the airport to meet Kokoso the camel and his handlers.
easyJet adds 3 routes from London Stansted
easyJet is marking the inaugural flights of its three latest routes from London Stansted Airport to Marrakech, Sofia and Sharm El Sheikh this weekend. The three new routes will see almost 3,000 passengers travelling to these destinations during half-term and an additional 100,000 seats available from London Stansted per year.
easyJet launches Scottish service from Southend
Low cost carrier easyJet is launching a new route from London Southend Airport to Edinburgh. The inaugural flight to Edinburgh will depart on 2 May 2013 with year round flights six days a week. Fares will start from £27.49.

easyJet has revealed it will create 330 new permanent jobs in 2013 for pilots as part of a new career structure to provide cadet and first officer opportunities for pilots looking for a career at easyJet. The new permanent first officer positions will be offered across all 11 of easyJet’s UK bases - Gatwick, Southend, Luton, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol and Belfast.
