During 2014 the emirate experienced a 10.6 per cent visitor increase from the 11 million guests in 2013. Passenger traffic at Dubai International bounced back from a three-month slump resulting from a major runway upgrade project which concluded on July 20th, to register a record 6.6 million passengers in August 2014. The monthly passenger traffic at Dubai International reached 6,648,058 in August 2014, up 10.8 per cent compared to 5,999,375 recorded in the corresponding month in 2013.

Launched to the public today, the Crest installation designed by Zaha Hadid Architects is a precursor to Zaha’s first complete hotel ME Dubai, which opens in 2016.  Crest is designed as a temporary installation which will remain at the V&A, London’s pivotal cultural hub, during the London Design Festival 2014.  It will then be taken to Dubai to become a permanent part of the ME Dubai hotel.
