Delta Air Lines to offer world’s largest Wi-Fi enabled fleet
Delta Air Lines has confirmed it will begin offering in-flight internet service on its long-haul international fleet of more than 150 aircraft, which includes Boeing 777, 767, 747, Airbus 330 and transoceanic Boeing 757 aircraft in early 2013. The expanded Wi-Fi service will use satellites to provide coverage internationally and will complement the existing air-to-ground service already provided by Gogo for aircraft flying within the domestic United States.

Delta Air Lines is acquiring an oil refinery from ConocoPhillips for $180 million, but expects to recover the investment in the first year of operations by saving on fuel costs. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2012 with jet fuel production beginning in the third quarter.

Delta Air Lines has broken ground on a $160 million renovation and expansion of its facilities at New York LaGuardia Airport. The project, which includes a 630-foot connector bridge linking Terminals C and D, a new Delta Sky Club in Terminal C and expanded security lanes in both terminals, comes as Delta creates a new domestic hub at LaGuardia.
Delta waves farewell to Gatwick
Delta Air Lines has moved its last remaining UK flight from Gatwick Airport to Heathrow, waving goodbye to London’s second airport. Delta confirmed earlier its service to Atlanta would switch to Heathrow, following departures to New York JFK and Cincinnati, which moved in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
