Delta to begin services to Havana, Cuba
Delta will begin serving Havana, Cuba, this autumn from New York-JFK, Atlanta and Miami following the approval by the United States department of transportation. “Today has been a long-awaited moment to celebrate Delta’s historic return to Cuba, and we thank secretary Foxx, his team and the other US officials for granting us the authority to provide Havana service from Atlanta, Miami and New York,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta vice president, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Delta reports increase in profit for June quarter
Delta Air Lines has reported its latest financial results, including adjusted pre-tax income for the June 2016 quarter at $1.7 billion. At the same time, the carrier said it would cut capacity into the UK following the decision to leave the European Union.
Delta Air Lines further expands Scotland flights with Glasgow departure
Two weeks after Delta Air Lines started service between Edinburgh and New York-JFK, the US airline has announced it will double its Scottish network in summer 2017 when it begins flying between Glasgow and the Big Apple. The service, which will begin on May 26th, 2017, will be the only non-stop fight between Glasgow and New York-JFK and will operate daily throughout the summer.

Full-time working women at companies based in the United States earn about 79 cents for every dollar men earn, according to the US Census Bureau. At Delta, there is virtually no pay gap: in administrative jobs women earn 98 per cent of what men do, and there’s statistical parity among male and female frontline or “scale” employees. Company leaders said the airline won’t be satisfied until that gap is reduced to zero for all employees.
Delta Air Lines launches year-round Edinburgh-New York flight
Delta Air Lines will launch its new non-stop flight between Edinburgh and New York’s John F. Kennedy airports today, offering more onward connections and on-board amenities than any other airline serving this route. The new service extends Delta’s UK network into Scotland and will operate year-round, offering customers a choice of 60 onward connections throughout the US including popular destination such as Los Angeles, Orlando and San Francisco.

Delta Air Lines has placed an order for 37 A321ceo aircraft. This order follows previous Delta orders for the Current Engine Option version of the largest Airbus A320 Family member in 2013 and 2014. Delta took delivery of its first A321 in March 2016. Including that aircraft and today’s announcement, Delta has ordered a total of 82 A321s.
Delta Air Lines to launch Salt Lake-Heathrow flights
Delta Air Lines is gearing up to the launch of its new non-stop flight between London’s Heathrow Airport and Salt Lake City on April 24th, 2016. The flight, which will be the only service linking London and the state capital of Utah, will operate year-round, allowing customers to enjoy the best of summer in the Mountain West as well as a broad range of winter sports.
Delta Air Lines reports strong profits for March quarter
Delta Air Lines today reported financial results for the March 2016 quarter, including adjusted pre-tax income of $1.56 billion, a $966 million increase over March 2015 quarter. Adjusted net income was $1 billion or $1.32 per diluted share. “With these results, the Delta people have proven again that they are the very best in the industry,” said Ed Bastian, Delta’s incoming chief executive officer.
Anderson to step down as Delta chief executive in May
Delta Air Lines’ board of directors has announced that Richard Anderson has chosen to retire as chief executive, effective May 2nd. At that time, Anderson will be elevated to executive chairman of the Delta Air Lines board. “Richard has been an outstanding leader and chief executive. “His unique combination of strategic and operating skills, plus his commitment to employees, corporate culture, customers and shareholders has redefined Delta and led to an entirely new and better way of flying around the world,” Dan Carp, chairman of the board at Delta Air Lines.
Delta Air Lines adds Wi-Fi connectivity on trans-Atlantic flights
Delta Air Lines is now offering high-speed Internet access on all trans-Atlantic flights between the United States and the UK, mainland Europe, Israel and West Africa. From the UK, the US airline offers up to 11 peak-day flights from Heathrow and one from Manchester meaning more customers can get online at 30,000 feet with Delta.
