Crystal expands spiritual side ashore in Europe this season
New religious shoreside options have been added to luxury specialist Crystal Cruises’ roster of meaningful and enriching experiences in Europe this year. With the expansion, the ultra-luxe line now offers more than 20 Crystal Adventures featuring private, after-hours access, centuries-old houses of worship, Jewish heritage tours, and sacred pilgrimage destinations in Spain, Italy, Turkey, Malta, France and other timeless locales on the Continent.

Ultra-luxe Crystal Cruises has set a new itinerary, and more than 15 new Crystal Adventures, for its 2013 North Cape cruise. Guests can sail, fly, ride, and hike past waterfalls, over glaciers, along white sand beaches, and up village-dotted coastlines during fifteen days and “white nights” aboard Crystal Serenity.
New Bruges & Amsterdam Crystal Cruise goes off the beaten path
This summer, Crystal Cruises is returning to Bruges and Amsterdam for the first time in years, with a new, seven-day itinerary from London. The June 8, Crystal Serenity voyage offers luxurious access to two of Northern Europe’s most charming, historic, and off-the-beaten-cruise-path cities. More than a dozen new Crystal Adventures throughout the cruise showcase the area’s artistic history, culinary delicacies, and vibrant man-made and natural surroundings.
New private car excursions with Crystal Cruises in 2013
Due to guest demand, beginning this spring, Crystal Cruises’ luxury travelers have a new and flexible private option for exploring Europe: their own car and driver, with local, English-speaking guide. The new private car or van offerings allow singles, couples and small groups (8 maximum) to fully customise time ashore upon arrival. While Crystal is launching the program in 50 European ports on Crystal Symphony Mediterranean cruises and Crystal Serenity Northern European cruises, the ultra-luxury line plans to extend the program to other destinations later in the year.

In an industry-first, Crystal Cruises is offering guests the opportunity to celebrate a private Sunday mass at the remote Our Lady of Aparecida Chapel, situated at the base of Rio de Janeiro’s most famous monument and one of the world’s Seven Wonders, the Christ the Redeemer statue. With the Rio to Miami “Exotic Amazon” voyage starting on Sunday, March 10, a local shipboard overnight on embarkation day allows for services to be held at 5 pm. Participation is limited to just 15 guests.

Reservations for Crystal Cruises surged this summer as the ultra-luxe line finished the month with its highest ever August booking week and month in its history. With the expiration of its August 31 “Book Now” fares, travel agents booked more than 110% more revenue than any prior year during the same week and for the entire month of August.
