LATAM Airlines Peru has inaugurated its non-stop flight between Lima and San José, Costa Rica, serving the Central American country for the first time. LATAM will operate three weekly flights between the two cities with Airbus A319 aircraft on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
The Costa Rica Tourism Board has established a partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and CNN International to launch a new campaign. Under the title “Essential Costa Rica. My choice, naturally,” the campaign will launch on July 3rd.
Last year proved to be a record year for inbound tourism to Costa Rica with revenue from tourism up by nine per cent - an increase of approximately three times that of the country’s GDP which was up by 2.8 per cent. International tourist numbers hit an all-time high, with 2,665,608 visitors arriving in 2015 through all ports of entry - an increase of 5.5 per cent on 2014.
