Choice Hotels International has announced a strategic relationship with Akkeron Hotels Group, a well-known regional hotel operator in the United Kingdom. The deal will initially result in nine Akkeron hotels operating under Choice Hotels franchise agreements in the UK, representing an almost 25 per cent increase in the Choice Hotels UK hotel portfolio and an additional 611 rooms.

Choice Hotels International has seen a considerable amount of system growth, with the addition of 128 newly opened franchised properties during the fourth quarter of 2012. Further, the company has executed a total of 214 new domestic contracts within the fourth quarter of 2012, a 67 per cent increase over the same period of the prior year.

Lodging giant Choice Hotels International announced today the addition of 46 hotels to its family of brands. Under an agreement reached with affiliates of Colony Capital, LLC, including Colony Financial, Inc., and hospitality management company Aimbridge Hospitality, the properties will be franchised under the Quality Inn, Comfort Inn and Econo Lodge brands.
