Abu Dhabi tourism seeks Chinese boost
Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority is working closely with its industry stakeholders on a number of key initiatives aimed at increasing the number of Chinese visitors to the emirate and encouraging those who do come to stay longer. News of the initiatives and their aims was spelt out at the opening of the third Chinese Visitor Summit which runs this week at the Rosewood Abu Dhabi hotel and which is being attended by 75 top Chinese travel agents and tour operators and a contingent of Chinese media.

Luxury markets are booming in Asia with a series of key events set to showcase world-leading brands to an emerging elite consumer. Early next month Citi World Luxury Expo, Seoul, will welcome high net worth individuals from across the region to the Grand Hyatt Seoul.
Ritz-Carlton Company plans first golf resort in China
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has unveiled plans for its first golf resort in China when The Ritz-Carlton, Mission Hills opens in late 2015 on the island of Hainan. Adding to the brand’s growing portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in China, The Ritz-Carlton, Mission Hills will be located in Haikou, the capital of Hainan Province.
PATA signs CRA training deal to boost Chinese tourism
The Pacific Asia Travel Association has signed a Master License agreement with China Ready & Accredited in order to promote the global rollout of CRA programmes to PATA members. CRA delivers a global system of training and accreditation, which provides Chinese consumers with an assurance of a pre-determined level of service quality when interacting with product and service providers outside mainland China.
Sharjah, China vow to boost tourism exchange, economic eooperation

Boeing looks to China for growth
Boeing is projecting a demand for 5,580 new airplanes in China over the next 20 years valued at $780 billion. The company’s annual China Current Market Outlook forecasts the country’s fleet to triple in size over the next two decades.
China - the new number one tourism source market in the world
China’s expenditure on travel abroad reached US$102 billion in 2012, making it the first tourism source market in the world in terms of spending. Other emerging markets as well as most traditional tourism source markets also showed positive results in 2012.
China joins the largest consumer tourism online event
China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC), a media production arm supervised by China’s State Council Information Office, partners with 3rd Planet to co-organise the largest consumer tourism initiative online. The massive project, Wonders of the World (WOW) will be launched to consumers globally in the first quarter of 2014.

The China National Tourist Office has launched a new website designed specifically for travellers from the United States. The site has been completely redesigned and updated with the goal of enabling tourists and travel professionals to learn more about the destination, its attractions, accommodations, and a multitude of information about travelling to and within China.
Hangzhou seeks to woo international visitors with new campaign
In an unprecedented move to encourage international tourists to visit, Hangzhou, capital of the Zhejiang, China, has launched an open door policy and a new campaign to promote tourism. Spearheaded by Li Hong, director of Hangzhou Tourism Commission, the campaign will target more than a dozen countries around the world including the United Kingdom, Germany, France and United States.
