Cathay Pacific has launched self-check in and bag drop kiosks at London Gatwick Airport South Terminal. The automation provides a seamless, stress-free and fast check-in experience, enabling its customers to have more time to relax before their flights.

Qatar Airways has entered into an agreement to purchase an amount of 378,188,000 shares of Cathay Pacific Airways, being approximately 9.61 per cent of the total issued share capital.

Cathay Pacific continues to grow Hong Kong’s connections to the world. From summer 2018, the airline will launch pioneering non-stop routes linking Hong Kong with Brussels, Dublin and Copenhagen, further strengthening the airline’s network and providing new trade and tourism opportunities between Asia and Europe.

Cathay Pacific Group has reported a loss of HK$2,051 million for the first six months of 2017. This compares to a profit of HK$353 million for the same period in 2016 and a loss of HK$928 million in the second six months of 2016.

Responding to customer demand, two of Cathay Pacific’s routes between the UK and Hong Kong will this week see a boost in frequency. Gatwick will move to a daily service, while Manchester increases to five flights per week.

Cathay Pacific Airways and the Lufthansa Group will offer their passengers selected flights under a new code-sharing deal. For Lufthansa Group customers, this will significantly improve the connections available from Hong Kong towards Australia and New Zealand.
