Downtown Circle is made up of five levels and would sit on five points, or pillars, embedded into the ground. The massive span of the circle itself would be composed of two main rings held together by a continuous green belt named the Skypark which vertically connects the floors with each other creating a connected three-dimensional urban green eco-system.

Saudi Arabia to build world’s tallest skyscraper - twice height of Burj Khalifa
The Saudi Royal family has unveiled plans to start construction of the world’s tallest skyscraper. The Kingdom Tower will measure 1.6km high, making it twice the height of the current world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The mixed-use development will cost £12bn and consist of hotels, offices, luxury apartments and a shopping centre.

World famous urban explorer Alain Robert – dubbed ‘Spiderman’ by the press – has scaled the iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai as part of his latest daredevil stunt. The Frenchman took over six hours to make the 828-metre ascent, which included the tapered spire above the top floors.

Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has returned to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai for further filming on Mission: Impossible IV – taking his seat on top of the world. Having already been captured clambering up side of the building earlier this month, Cruise went one better over the weekend, taking a seat on top of the world’s tallest building.

Burj Khalifa closes following lift crash
The observation deck on the world’s tallest building has been closed indefinitely after a lift broke down in the Burj Khalifa Tower. Fifteen passengers were left stranded for 45 minutes inside the lift, which broke down as it was descending from the deck.
