British Airways links with X-Factor ahead of final auditions
The X-Factor has teamed up with British Airways, as the official airline, to fly its celebrity judges and contestants to Bermuda, Cancun, Los Angeles and Nice for the final auditions. For the first time, the ‘judges houses’ episodes will air over three nights on ITV this Friday Saturday and Sunday at 20:00.
British Airways adds three new routes
British Airways has added another three new routes to its 2015 Gatwick schedule. Services to Seville in Spain, Funchal in Madeira and Las Palmas in Gran Canaria will commence in March 2015.
British Airways salutes London-New York Club World service
British Airways has become the most successful commercial airline to operate a business class-only service between the world’s financial capitals, London and New York. Previous all-business class airlines that operated on the route between London and New York, such as Maxjet, Eos and Silverjet, all ceased trading within five years.
British Airways to return to Kuala Lumpur after 13 year hiatus
British Airways is to resume direct flights from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur in summer 2015. The daily service from Terminal 5 will be operated by a four-cabin Boeing 777-200ER, featuring 12 seats in First, 48 in Club World, 32 in World Traveller Plus and a further 127 in World Traveller.

BA and Iberia launch 72 hour hold option
BA and Iberia have launched a new service allowing customers to hold flight reservations for up to three days before paying for them to 72 hours for as little as £5 through ba.com. Drew Crawley, British Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: “There’s nothing more frustrating than seeing a great flight price but not being able to book it straight away, either because you may need to get the time off work or check it’s ok with family or friends – then coming back and finding there are no seats left or the price has changed.”

British Airways is introducing football highlights and sports magazine shows on a number of long-haul flights, following the boost in interest this summer. The airline is introducing popular Saturday cable show ‘Soccer AM’ on flights from August 19th.
Humphreys takes up top UK sales role with British Airways
British Airways has announced that Stephen Humphreys will be the airline’s new head of UK&I sales and marketing. Humphreys will replace Richard Tams, who after five years in the role, is moving to become the airline’s executive vice president, China.
British Airways has it covered for sky-tech sleep experiment
British Airways has begun testing a hi-tech blanket which changes colour using brainwaves, to ensure it offers customers the best flight’s sleep in the sky. The ‘happiness blanket’, which is woven with fibre optics, uses neuro-sensors to measure a person’s brainwaves and changes colour, from red to blue, to show when they’re at their most relaxed and meditative.
British Airways brings ‘slow TV’ phenomenon to UK flights
British Airways is launching a new style of ‘Slow TV’ programming on board a number of its long-haul flights, for those that believe that ‘the journey is as important as the destination’. An unlikely breakout hit in Norway, ‘The Seven Hour Train Journey to Oslo’ follows the entire duration of a train ride, from Oslo to Bergen.
British Airways links for codeshare deal with Vueling
British Airways customers will have access to new destinations and scores more routes when the airline adds its flight code to more than 170 Vueling services. This significant move for the two International Airlines Group airlines heralds the beginning of a closer relationship with more codeshare routes planned for the future.
