British Airways takes off for Chambery from Stansted
Winter sports fans will have a direct gateway to some of Europe’s top snow resorts from Stansted tomorrow with the launch of new British Airways flights to the French Alpine city of Chambery. The well-timed weekend flights will give customers easy access to some of the top snow and ski resorts like Val d’Isere, La Plagne, Meribel and Courchevel.
Strike threat looms over Christmas travel at British Airways
Cabin crew at British Airways have voted in favour of strike action over what they argue is low pay. Some 79 per cent of the crew that took part in the ballot voted for strike action, with over 2,500 members of the Unite members who crew routes to dozens of destinations now considering action. This could come as soon as December 21st.
Best of British as BA launches own brand gin
British Airways is introducing its very own exclusive brand of gin for premium customers. The specially made tipple – British Airways Gin – will only be served to the airline’s First customers, from the bar of the prestigious Concorde Room at Heathrow’s Terminal 5. It has been blended for British Airways following extensive taste tests with First customers at the Concorde Room bar in London, by the award-winning Cambridge Distillery, the world’s first ‘gin tailor’.
British Airways signs codeshare with Alaska Airlines
British Airways has launched a new codeshare agreement with Alaska Air, which builds on the existing frequent flyer programme partnership between the two carriers. The codeshare deal, which is effective from November 23, will enable customers to book connecting flights on Alaska Air routes at ba.com, to seven destinations on the West Coast of America, and three in Hawaii.
Viceland takes to the skies with British Airways

British Airways to launch Gatwick-Oakland flights in spring 2017
British Airways is launching a new service to Oakland, San Francisco Bay on March 28th, 2017. It will be the airline’s first route from Gatwick to California, and its fifth service from London to the ‘Golden State’. Oakland offers close connections to world-famous landmarks including Napa Valley, Carmel and Yosemite national park.
Qatar Airways expands British Airways codeshare deal
Qatar Airways has expanded its code-share agreement with British Airways, which will provide travellers with a wider choice of flights and an enhanced network. With the launch of British Airways’ non-stop service between London and Doha, travellers will benefit from seven daily flights from Heathrow, improving connectivity onto each airline’s network.

Iberia joins oneworld partners in Japanese joint business
Today Iberia will join Japan Airlines, British Airways and Finnair in their joint business between Europe and Japan. The joint business means that the four airlines will share revenue and cooperate on scheduling and pricing between Japan and Europe, providing customers with more flexible routing options and an attractive range of fares.
British Airways to increase London City services to Germany
British Airways is providing more than 34,000 extra seats to Germany from London City Airport this winter with bigger aircraft and additional flights. Services to Hamburg and Dusseldorf will operate on the 76-seat Embraer 170 jet aircraft, replacing the current Saab 2000 turboprop. In addition the schedule to Dusseldorf will increase from three to four flights a day.

The latest development from British Airways’ roll-out of New Distribution Capability is set to benefit the corporate travel community and significantly move the programme forward.
