Singapore Airlines and Boeing sign deal for new 777-300s
Boeing and Singapore Airlines have announced an order for eight additional 777-300 Extended Range (ER) airplanes. “This order is part of our ongoing fleet expansion and modernisation program, which enables us to offer our latest cabin products to our customers,” said Goh Choon Phong, chief executive officer for Singapore Airlines.
Boeing signs Qatar Airways for Electronic Flight Folder launch
Boeing has announced Qatar Airways will be the launch customer for its new Electronic Flight Folder. The carrier will install the EFF on their entire fleet of Boeing 777s, making it the first in the world to transmit day-of-flight data such as flight plans and weather information directly to the 777 Class 3 Electronic Flight Bag.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner arrives at Dubai Air Show
The third Boeing 787 Dreamliner, ZA003, touched down Saturday at the Dubai International Airport on the eve of the biennial Dubai Air Show, marking the Middle East debut for the all-new jet. The airplane will be on display Nov. 13 through 16.
Boeing projects $450 billion market for airplanes in the Middle East
Boeing forecasts that airlines in the Middle East will need an estimated 2,520 airplanes worth $450 billion by 2030. The forecast comes as the region’s carriers continue to surpass global air traffic and capacity growth rates.

Bell announces retirement from Boeing
James Bell, chief financial officer at Boeing, has announced plans to retire from the company on April 1st, 2012. Greg Smith, 45, corporate controller and finance vice president, has been elected by Boeing’s board of directors to succeed Bell as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Air China links with Boeing for biofuel showcase
Air China and Boeing have joined forced to conducted China’s first sustainable biofuel flight. Alongside Chinese and US aviation energy partners, the two-hour mainland flight from Beijing Capital International Airport was witnessed by officials from both countries and highlights the viability of using sustainable aviation biofuel sourced in China.
Boeing increases share guidance following strong third quarter
Boeing has reported third-quarter net income of $1.1 billion, or $1.46 per share, on revenue of $17.7 billion. An operating margin of 9.7 per cent reflects the continued strong core performance across the company’s businesses, partially offset by higher pension expense, the company said in a statement to markets.

Boeing has begun building the first Next-Generation 737 at the program’s new production rate of 35 airplanes a month.The rate is increasing from 31.5 airplanes a month to meet worldwide market demand for the best-selling single-aisle airplane.
Boeing: 7,530 new airplanes for North America by 2031
Aviation giant Boeing has forecast air carriers in North America will take delivery of 7,530 new airplanes over the next 20 years at a market value of $760 billion. Taking retirements of airplanes into account, the North America fleet will grow from 6,610 airplanes today to about 9,330 airplanes by 2030.
Hrinak appointed to head up Boeing in Brazil
Boeing has named Donna Hrinak as president of Boeing Brazil. The appointment, which is effective October 14th, further expands Boeing’s presence in Brazil and strengthens the company’s engagement with customers, industry and government stakeholders.
Boeing delivers first 737 direct to Somon Air
Boeing has delivered the first Next-Generation 737-900ER with the new Boeing Sky Interior to Tajikistan-based Somon Air, making it the first Central Asian carrier to operate an airplane featuring the new innovative interior. The delivery is also Somon Air’s first direct purchase of a 737.
