Boeing has named Kim Smith as vice president of Boeing environment, health and safety. In the new role, Smith will be responsible for leading Boeing’s ongoing effort to reduce the environmental footprint of its global operations, products and services.
Boeing celebrates 737 milestone with flydubai delivery
Boeing has delivered the 7,000th 737 to come off the production line to Dubai-based flydubai. The model is the best-selling commercial jetliner of all time with total orders exceeding 9,300 airplanes, including orders for the new 737 MAX.
FedEx Express orders 29 aircraft from Boeing
Boeing has announced FedEx Express has ordered 27 767-300 Freighters and exercised existing options for two additional 777 Freighters. The new 777 Freighters will support FedEx’s growth in the international cargo market.

Boeing and Southwest Airlines have announced a firm order for 150 fuel-efficient 737 MAX airplanes. The Dallas-based carrier also ordered 58 Next-Generation 737s in what becomes the largest deal in Boeing history both in dollar value, nearly $19 billion at list prices, and the number of airplanes.
Lufthansa to begin Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental testing
Boeing and Lufthansa have reached the next major milestone on the 747-8 Intercontinental program with the start of pre-delivery testing of the new airplane at the German flag-carrier’s main operations base at Frankfurt Airport. Lufthansa will conduct a number of tests from today until December 9th to help ensure a smooth integration of the newest member of the 747 family into Lufthansa operations.
Hong Kong Airlines outlines expansion plans
Hong Kong Airlines is to acquire more than 50 new aircraft over the next four years, as part of a major expansion of its operations on international and Chinese domestic routes. Together with its sister carrier, Hong Kong Express, the carrier currently operates a fleet of 18 aircraft – eight wide-bodied Airbus A330-200s and ten narrow bodied Boeing 737s – to 23 destinations in China, north and southeast Asia and Moscow.
Boeing 777 customers benefit from 10 new environmental actions
The Boeing 777 program is implementing 10 initiatives that will eliminate 5.5 million pounds CO2 emitted and 300,000 gallons of jet fuel used annually during the 777 delivery process.
Singapore Airlines confirmed B777-300ER order with Boeing
Singapore Airlines has firmed up an order with Boeing for eight more B777-300ERs for use on medium and long-haul routes. The order was announced in August when a letter of intent was inked, with a firm purchase agreement now in place, enabling deliveries of the aircraft to begin in the 2013/14 financial year.

Boeing and Singapore Airlines have announced an order for eight additional 777-300 Extended Range (ER) airplanes. “This order is part of our ongoing fleet expansion and modernisation program, which enables us to offer our latest cabin products to our customers,” said Goh Choon Phong, chief executive officer for Singapore Airlines.
Boeing signs Qatar Airways for Electronic Flight Folder launch
Boeing has announced Qatar Airways will be the launch customer for its new Electronic Flight Folder. The carrier will install the EFF on their entire fleet of Boeing 777s, making it the first in the world to transmit day-of-flight data such as flight plans and weather information directly to the 777 Class 3 Electronic Flight Bag.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner arrives at Dubai Air Show
The third Boeing 787 Dreamliner, ZA003, touched down Saturday at the Dubai International Airport on the eve of the biennial Dubai Air Show, marking the Middle East debut for the all-new jet. The airplane will be on display Nov. 13 through 16.
